This class is for 12th graders of CBSE and state syllabus. I would be giving a lecture about the basics of wave optics. After attending this class you will get clear idea about the concept of wavefront. The main phenomena of light; reflection, refraction, interference, diffraction and polarisation can be explained using the concept of wavefront. In this class I will be using special social effects like interactive note book page and video illustrations to get concrete idea about the concept. A wavefront is the locus of points which are in the same state of vibration. We can have plane wavefront, spherical and cylindrical wavefronts. A spherical wavefront can be created using a pointed source, cylindrical using linear source. If the source is far away, then the wavefront will be a plane wavefront. I will also explain about coherent sources of light. The difference between ordinary sources of light and laser is that ordinary sources produce light waves at different phases.
