“The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives” ~ Anthony Robbins..
Why do we need accent training?
Although we commonly talk about 'English pronunciation' obviously not all speakers of English pronounce it in the same way.
In India, English is an important second language for many speakers, and has often become the language to be used in official contexts such as courts, business houses, educational institutions, and MNCs
However, dialects differ not only from one region to another within our country. The reason is we tend to speak English with the sounds present in our regional languages. This is called MTI (mother tongue influence). This is why native English speakers do not understand the way we speak English.
Consequently, it is useful to ‘model’ your pronunciation on one variety or get yourself a neutralised accent which is accepted globally. So that every time you communicate in English, you come out as a winner.
