What actually makes an experience good? Why do users behave differently than we expect? And how does a UX designer decide what to design in the first place?
This workshop introduces you to the thinking behind UX design through real-world examples, psychology, human behavior, and practical design scenarios.
We will explore how UX designers observe problems, understand users, identify motivations and pain points, and turn insights into meaningful design decisions. You will also get an introduction to key UX concepts such as user research, behavioral psychology, cognitive biases, affordances, signifiers, Gestalt principles, usability, and decision-making.
This session is designed for beginners, students, aspiring UX designers, UI designers, and anyone curious about how professional UX thinking works.
You do not need prior UX knowledge or experience with Figma to attend. Just bring a willingness to observe, question, and think differently about everyday products and experiences.
The goal is not to teach you how to make a screen. It is to help you understand how a UX designer thinks before making one.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Understand what UX actually means beyond UI
- Identify UX problems in everyday experiences
- Understand basic human behaviour and psychology in design
- Understand how UX research influences design decisions
- Recognise common UX principles and psychological patterns
- Approach a design problem from a user-first perspective
