About the Course
Portrait drawing is not simply about drawing individual facial features—it is about understanding the structure, proportions, form, light, and unique characteristics that make every face different. This 1-month course, spread across 8 live lectures, is designed to help you build a strong and practical foundation in portrait drawing.
We begin with the structure of the head, facial proportions, and construction before exploring different angles and perspectives. You’ll learn to construct the eyes, nose, mouth, and ears as three-dimensional forms rather than isolated symbols. We then move into light, shadow, facial planes, hair, and other details to create depth and realism.
Through demonstrations, guided exercises, reference-based practice, and feedback, you’ll learn how to observe a face carefully, identify what makes it unique, and translate that observation into a drawing. The course concludes with a complete portrait project and critique.
