Key Changes and Features:
Computer-based:
The SAT is now taken on a laptop or tablet using the College Board's Bluebook app.
Shorter Test:
The total testing time is now 2 hours and 14 minutes, compared to the previous 3 hours.
Adaptive Testing:
The digital SAT uses a module-based adaptive format. This means the difficulty of the second module in each section is adjusted based on your performance in the first module.
Shorter Reading Passages:
Instead of long passages, students will encounter shorter, more focused passages with fewer questions per passage.
Calculator Use:
A calculator is available for the entire Math section within the Bluebook app, and students can also bring their own approved calculator.
Faster Scoring:
Scores are now delivered in days, not weeks.
More Focus on Skills and Knowledge:
With the shorter test time and adaptive format, the digital SAT aims to assess students' skills and knowledge more effectively, rather than just their speed.
