One-Year Basic Acoustic Guitar Course
Learning to play the acoustic guitar is one of the most rewarding musical journeys you can begin. Our One-Year Basic Acoustic Guitar Course is specially designed for beginners who want to develop a strong foundation, gain confidence, and start playing their favorite songs within a structured time frame.
This course is divided into four progressive stages spread across twelve months, ensuring steady growth in both technique and musical understanding.
Stage 1: Getting Started (Months 1–3)
We begin with the fundamentals—understanding the parts of the guitar, proper posture, and tuning. Students learn how to hold the guitar correctly, develop finger strength, and start with basic open chords such as C, G, D, and Em. Simple strumming patterns are introduced, allowing learners to play easy songs within the first few weeks.
Stage 2: Chords and Rhythm (Months 4–6)
In this stage, students expand their chord vocabulary and learn to switch between chords smoothly. Rhythm exercises focus on strumming patterns in different time signatures, helping students play along with popular songs. Introduction to basic music theory, including notes, beats, and scales, builds a deeper understanding of music.
Stage 3: Fingerstyle and Melody (Months 7–9)
As skills grow, students are introduced to fingerpicking techniques, arpeggios, and simple melodies. They practice scales on the fretboard, improving finger independence and coordination. By this stage, learners can combine chords with melodies and begin creating their own short compositions.
Stage 4: Playing with Confidence (Months 10–12)
The final stage focuses on performance. Students learn to play full songs with dynamic strumming, smooth transitions, and expression. They also get guidance on playing along with backing tracks, jamming with others, and building stage confidence. A small recital or recording project is included to celebrate their progress.
By the end of this one-year course, students will:
-
Play a variety of chords and strumming patterns
