Who is this class for?
This class is designed for high-school and undergraduate students studying Electromagnetic Induction, especially those who want to build a strong conceptual understanding of motional EMF and improve their numerical problem-solving skills.
What will students learn?
- What motional EMF is and why it is produced.
- How a moving conductor interacts with a magnetic field.
- Derivation and physical meaning of ε = Bℓv.
- Mechanical and electrical power derivation.
- Direction of induced current using Right-Hand Thumb Rule.
- Emf in a rotating rod and different cases related to motional emf.
- How to approach and solve typical numerical problems and conceptual questions.
- Real-world applications of motional EMF and previous year questions if time permits
What should students bring?
- Notebook and pen/pencil.
- Smile and positive approach
Prerequisites:
Students should have a basic understanding of magnetic fields, magnetic force on a moving charge/conductor, vectors, and elementary algebra. Prior knowledge of Faraday’s law is helpful but not mandatory.
