I am not here merely to instruct you on standard concepts such as ISO and shutter speed. There are essential aspects of photography that cannot be acquired through online resources, including the accurate exposure techniques, the enhancement of your observational skills, the development of your unique aesthetic, the transition from theoretical knowledge to practical application, the emergence of your artistic identity,
and ultimately, the business side of photography.
In this class we will discuss all the structures of photography as well as a different curriculum approach.
- Camera operation: How to use the camera, including film exposure, processing, and printing
- Composition: How to use composition techniques to improve your photos, such as breaking patterns or using the rule of thirds
- Lighting: How to use lighting to create the desired effect, such as studio set-up and basic lighting
- Photography skills: How to control the camera's settings, such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, to achieve the desired exposure
- Visual communication: How to use photography as a fine art design element
