Introduction to Bharatnatyam:
- This class will consist 4-5 sessions( 45-50 min each)
- This class is for hobby learners, beginners and for getting quick exposure.
- In these session, students will learn the basic posture, simple steps (adavus), hand gestures (mudras), and a short dance sequence. No prior experience is required. This workshop is perfect for all age groups who want to start their journey in classical dance in a simple and enjoyable way.
- Perfect for those who want to perform or showcase their skills in a short time.
- Since this course will be having full workshop sessions with crisp content, the charges of each session would be 1200/- .
- Language preference for conversation would be Bengali(Preferred). Also comfortable with Hindi conversation ( basic)
Course Content:
Session 1: Introduction & Basics
• Introduction to Bharatanatyam (history & posture)
• Basic body alignment and hand positions
• Warm-up and footwork practice
• Introduction to simple adavus
Session 2: Adavus & Coordination
• Practice of basic adavus
• Hand-leg coordination techniques
• Rhythm (tala) understanding
• Short practice combinations
Session 3: Mudras & Expressions
• Introduction to mudras (hand gestures)
• Basic abhinaya (facial expressions)
• Eye and neck movements
• Expression practice with simple storytelling
Session 4: Choreography Learning
• Learning a short Bharatanatyam sequence
• Combining steps, mudras, and expressions
• Practice with music
• Corrections and refinement
Duration: 1 hour per session (4 sessions total)
