This class is designed for children who benefit from individualised special education support based on their unique learning needs, strengths, and areas of difficulty.

Initial Assessment-

The first two sessions will be assessment sessions. These sessions will help understand your child’s current skills, strengths, learning needs, and areas that require support.

Based on the assessment and observations, an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) will be developed with appropriate learning goals and teaching strategies. The following sessions will be planned around these goals and adjusted as the child progresses.

What Will We Work On?

Depending on your child’s individual goals, sessions may focus on:

Reading, writing, and spelling

Mathematics and foundational academic skills

Attention and following instructions

Communication and language skills

Problem-solving and independent learning

Understanding and applying concepts

Functional and everyday learning skills

Learning will be interactive and child-centred, using activities, visual supports, games, guided practice, and hands-on learning wherever appropriate. The pace and level of support will be adapted to suit each child.

What Do Parents Need to Provide?

Parents may occasionally be asked to print worksheets or activity materials shared before a session. These will only be required when they are part of the planned lesson.

No specialised materials or resources need to be purchased for the class.

Are There Any Prerequisites?

There are no specific prerequisites for joining the class. Children can begin at their current level, and learning goals will be developed according to their individual needs.

Parents will also be kept informed about the child’s progress and areas to continue working on between sessions, wherever appropriate.
