This course is designed for beginners and students who wish to learn Hindustani Classical Vocal Music in a structured and enjoyable way. The classes focus on developing a strong foundation in Indian classical music through regular vocal practice and gradual introduction to important musical concepts.
Students will learn the basic Swaras, Shuddha and Vikrit Swaras, Alankars, voice exercises, basic Taal concepts, and introductory Ragas. Emphasis will be given to Swar Shuddhi, rhythm, voice control, pronunciation, pitch, and developing the ability to sing with confidence. Students will also learn how to practice effectively between classes.
The lessons can be adapted according to the student's age, previous musical experience, learning pace, and individual requirements. Beginners are welcome, and no prior knowledge of Hindustani Classical Music is required. Regular practice will be encouraged to help students gradually improve their voice, musical understanding, concentration, and confidence.
Students should have a suitable place for practice and, if available, a Tanpura or Tanpura app for maintaining pitch during practice. The goal is to build a strong musical foundation while developing an appreciation and understanding of the rich tradition of Hindustani Classical Music.
