This German language course is designed to help students progress systematically from A1 beginner level to B2 upper-intermediate level. Each level focuses on developing the four essential language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, along with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and practical communication.
A1 – Beginner: This level is suitable for students with little or no previous knowledge of German. Students learn greetings, introductions, numbers, dates, time, family, hobbies, daily routine, food, shopping, travel and other everyday topics. Grammar includes personal pronouns, verb conjugation, articles, sentence structure, questions, negation, modal verbs, possessive articles, Akkusativ and common prepositions. The focus is on building a strong foundation and communicating in simple everyday situations.
A2 – Elementary: Students build on their A1 knowledge and develop greater confidence in everyday communication. Topics include travel, work, health, appointments, shopping, experiences and making plans. Students practise longer conversations and learn grammar such as Perfekt, Präteritum, reflexive verbs, comparative and superlative forms, Dativ and Akkusativ, prepositions, conjunctions and subordinate clauses.
B1 – Intermediate: Students learn to communicate more independently and express opinions, experiences and ideas in greater detail. Topics include education, employment, travel, media, technology, environment, health and society. Grammar includes relative clauses, subordinate clauses, Konjunktiv II, passive structures, connectors and more advanced sentence structures. Speaking, writing and discussion skills receive greater emphasis.
B2 – Upper-Intermediate: Students develop advanced communication skills and learn to express complex ideas clearly and confidently. Lessons include discussions, presentations, debates, structured writing, reading comprehension and listening practice. Topics cover society, education, employment, technology, media, culture and environmental issues. Advanced grammar includes passive voice, Konjunktiv II, indirect speech, nominalisation, participle constructions, advanced connectors and complex sentence structures.
The course uses practical examples, exercises, conversations and interactive activities to help students apply German in real-life situations and prepare for further study or A1–B2 level examinations.
