1-Hour CBSE Class 12 English Lesson Plan (One Chapter per Class)
Objective: To read, understand, and analyse one chapter in detail, while practising exam-style answers.
1. Introduction (5 min)
Begin with a quick recap of the previous lesson. Introduce today’s chapter with a short background on the author, historical context, and main themes. Outline the session’s goals so students know the learning focus.
2. Guided Reading (15 min)
Read the text aloud, alternating between teacher and students. Pause to explain difficult words, literary devices, and cultural references. Encourage students to annotate key points for better retention.
3. Detailed Analysis (15 min)
Break the chapter into sections. Discuss hidden meanings, character motivations, tone, and relevance. Highlight points likely to appear in exams.
4. Question Practice (15 min)
Solve short-answer (2–3 marks) and long-answer (5–6 marks) questions. Emphasise structure, key terms, and linking responses to the text.
5. Recap & Homework (5 min)
Summarise themes, share new vocabulary, and assign practice questions plus glossary work. Encourage pre-reading of the next chapter for better participation.
