This class for 12 th students on any boatd( state, CBSE, ICSE OR STATE).

Students will be to understand the scope and importance of electrochemistry and this appreciate the need of electrochemistry in our daily life. They will be able to identify applications of electrochemistry in our daily life.

They will be able to understand the process of electrolysis in electrochemical cells or galvanic cell. Student will be able explain the working of Daniel cell which is an example of electrochemical cell.

Students will also be able to differenciate between electrochemical cells and electrolytic cells.

They will learn how to draw electrochemical cell.

Students will understand which electrode carry outs oxidation process and which one carry outs reduction process.

They will learn how to represent cell reaction, oxidation half reaction and reduction half reaction.

They understand the terms electrode potential, standard electrode potential and cell potential and derive equation for cell potential .

Students need to bring a book and pen.
