This specialized Creo training package is designed to train engineers in 3D Mechanical Part Modeling and 3D Electrical Wiring Harness Routing using Creo Parametric and Creo Cabling. Harness design is a critical skill widely used across Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial Equipment, and Heavy Machinery sectors.
1. Who is this class for?
This course is ideal for Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, and Mechatronics Engineers, Automotive Designers, Harness Drafters, and CAD Professionals seeking to specialize in 3D Electrical System Integration and Harness Routing.
2. What will the students learn in this class?
- Creo Parametric Basics: 2D Sketching, 3D Part Modeling, Datum Features, and Mechanical Assemblies.
- Creo Cabling Environment: Cabling setup, Logical data import (NWF/XML from Creo Schematics), and Harness file management.
- Connector & Component Setup: Defining entry ports, coordinate systems, and electrical parameters.
- Route Cables & Wires: Manual/auto-routing single wires, cables, shielded pairs, and ribbon cables.
- Bundle & Sheathing Creation: Applying looms, shrink tubes, tape, and branch bundles.
- Manufacturing Output: Flattening 3D harness models, creating 2D nailboard drawings, pinout tables, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
3. Is there anything the students need to bring to the class?
Students must have a 64-bit laptop/PC (minimum 8GB/16GB RAM recommended) with PTC Creo Parametric (with Cabling module enabled) installed. A 3-button mouse with a scroll wheel is required.
4. Is there any pre-requisites for this class?
Basic understanding of mechanical engineering graphics or fundamental electrical wiring/connectors is helpful. Prior CAD experience is beneficial but not strictly mandatory.
