Correlation is a very important and interesting concept in statistics. This course basically targets the students of class 11.The students will learn what is correlation, how to measure it.There are broadly three ways of measuring it.First is scatter diagram to see the nature of relationship. Then there is Pearson correlation coefficient and next is spearman rank correlation coefficient that ranks the observation. For attending the class, the students need to sit with a pen and paper to note down the points I mention.Broadly speaking there are two types of correlation.linear and non linear. We will learn about non linear correlation in higher classes. For the time being we will focus on linear correlation.under linear correlation there are theree major types of correlation.positive , negative and uncorrelated.Correlation generally means the relation between two variables.positive correlation means if one variable rise the other also rises.negative correlation means as one rises the other variable falls. And zero means there is no correlation between the variables.I hope the students will enjoy my class.
