It is for First Year Engineering Course.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
CO 1. Generate orthographic projections of points, lines, planes, and solids manually and with computer-aided tools.
CO 2. Develop the lateral surfaces of solids for real-world applications.
CO 3. Draw isometric views and convert isometric drawings to orthographic views.
Computer Aided Engineering Drawing for CS Stream introduces engineering drawing principles, BIS conventions, freehand sketching, scales, and computer-aided drafting tools. Students learn to create orthographic projections of points, lines, planes, and solids, including prisms, pyramids, cylinders, and cones. The course covers sectional views and development of lateral surfaces for practical applications such as funnels and trays. It also develops skills in isometric drawing and conversion of isometric views into orthographic projections.
The course begins with engineering drawing fundamentals, including BIS conventions, freehand sketching, scales, coordinate systems, reference planes and basic CAD commands. Students learn orthographic projections of points, lines, planes and solids such as prisms, pyramids, cylinders and cones. It also covers sectional views and the development of lateral surfaces, which are useful in designing components such as funnels and trays.
Students further learn isometric views and projections, including the conversion of isometric drawings into orthographic views.
