This programme is for students entering Class 9 who want to build a strong foundation in Chemistry through conceptual understanding, scientific reasoning, application and problem-solving. It is suitable for CBSE, ICSE and IGCSE students. CBSE students will have a dedicated CBSE group, while ICSE and IGCSE students may share common conceptual and theory sessions where appropriate. Students may also attend a session with another group when the content is relevant to their learning needs.
Students will develop a strong understanding of Class 9 Chemistry concepts including matter, atomic structure, chemical bonding, periodicity, chemical reactions, water, hydrogen, quantitative chemistry, electrochemistry and relevant environmental and introductory organic chemistry. The programme also develops numerical skills, scientific reasoning, application-based thinking and examination skills through assignments, assessments, revision and structured practice. Problem-solving, past-paper practice and examination preparation are conducted separately according to the requirements and question patterns of each board.
Students should bring their prescribed Chemistry textbook/syllabus, notebook, stationery and a calculator where permitted or required.
No advanced Chemistry knowledge is required. Students should have completed Class 8 Science and be prepared to participate actively, practise regularly and ask questions. The 56-hour programme is designed as a long-term foundation course, allowing time for concept development, guided practice, assessment and revision.
