CBSE Class 8 Mathematics & Science
The CBSE Class 8 curriculum is designed to strengthen conceptual understanding and develop analytical and scientific thinking. Mathematics introduces students to advanced topics such as algebra, rational numbers, linear equations, exponents, and data handling. It also covers geometry, mensuration, and comparing quantities, including percentages, profit and loss, and simple and compound interest. Students learn to interpret graphs and apply mathematical concepts to real-life situations, enhancing problem-solving skills.
Science encourages curiosity and practical learning through topics in Physics (force, pressure, friction, sound), Chemistry (synthetic fibers, metals and non-metals, coal and petroleum, combustion), and Biology (cell structure, reproduction, microorganisms). Environmental issues like air and water pollution and conservation of resources are also emphasized. The course integrates theory with experiments, promoting critical thinking and application-based learning. By the end of the year, students gain a strong foundation for higher classes and everyday scientific reasoning.
