C Programming - Basic and Advanced

This class if for college students enrolled into Bsc, Bca, Mca courses. It will be also useful to students of other stream or graduates looking to learn C Programming. Students will start with basics of C Programming and gradually progress to advanced C concepts such as Pointers, Memory management, Data Structures etc To benefit from the course students should have access to computer with C compiler. All notes will be provided to students enrolling into the course. Syllabus Core Module • Data types, Operators, and Formatted/Unformatted I/O. • Control Structures (Conditional statements & Loops). • Arrays (1D & 2D) and basic Sorting/Searching (Bubble sort, Linear search). • Functions (Built-in and User-defined) & Introduction to Scope/Storage classes. Adv. Modules: • Pointers (Crucial Section - 10 Hours): Pointer arithmetic, Double pointers, Pointer to arrays, Functions pointers, and Call-by-value vs. Call-by-reference. • Dynamic Memory Allocation (DMA): malloc, calloc, realloc, free, and preventing memory leaks. • Strings & Custom Data Types: Deep dive into string handling library functions, Structures, Unions, Bit-fields, and typedef. • File Handling & Command Line Arguments: Text vs Binary files, sequential/random access (fseek, ftell), and writing utility tools using argc and argv. • Advanced Topics: Macro functions, Bitwise operations
