Everyone wants to make games. Most think it's too hard. It's not. With Python and a library called Pygame, you'll have a playable game in 2 hours.
Hour 1 – Setting Up + Moving Things:
We'll:
-
Install Pygame (easier than it sounds)
-
Create a window (your game screen)
-
Draw shapes – player, enemies, stuff
-
Make things move with keyboard
By the end of hour one, you'll have a square you can move around. Simple? Yes. But it's YOUR square moving because of YOUR code.
Hour 2 – Add Game Logic:
Now make it a real game:
-
Add obstacles or enemies
-
Collect items for points
-
Detect collisions (did player touch enemy?)
-
Add score, lives, game over screen
We'll build either a dodge game or a collecting game – your choice. By the end, you'll have something you can play and show friends.
Who is this for? Absolute beginners. Gamers who want to understand how games work. Students who want a fun first project.
What you'll leave with: Working Python game. Code you understand. Bragging rights. Maybe a new hobby.
Bring laptop. Bring your favorite game memories.
