Most portfolios are boring. "Hi I'm XYZ, here are my skills." Recruiters see 50 of those a day. Let's build one that makes them stop scrolling.
Hour 1 – Planning and Structure:
Before writing code, we'll think: who's looking at this? What do they want to see? We'll look at real examples of portfolios that landed people jobs.
Then we'll sketch your site together. Simple sections:
-
Hero area with your face and a killer one-liner
-
Projects with real screenshots
-
What you actually did in each project
-
Links to GitHub/LinkedIn
We'll set up the HTML structure. I'll show you semantic tags that Google loves (SEO matters).
Hour 2 – Design Polish + Live Deploy:
Now we make it look good. Colors that don't hurt eyes. Spacing that feels right. Fonts that look professional. I'll share my CSS secrets that make any site look 10x better.
Then the magic: putting it live with a custom domain. I'll show you how to buy a domain (if you want) or use free subdomains. We'll deploy on Netlify – drag and drop, done.
Extra touches: Add a dark mode toggle. Make it mobile friendly. Add subtle animations that impress.
Who is this for? Students applying for internships. Freelancers needing clients. Anyone who's tired of sending resumes and getting no replies.
What you'll leave with: A portfolio site that's yours. Live on internet. Ready to send to recruiters. And the skills to update it whenever you want.
Bring laptop and think about your best projects (even class projects count).
