This Bharatanatyam Trial Session is designed to introduce students to the beauty, structure, and discipline of this classical Indian dance form. The session is suitable for beginners of all age groups who are curious to explore Bharatanatyam, as well as those with prior dance experience who would like to understand the foundational technique and training approach followed in regular classes.
During this one-hour session, students will be guided through basic body alignment, posture (aramandi), hand gestures (mudras), simple adavus (basic steps), rhythm awareness, and coordination exercises. The focus will be on understanding the essence of Bharatanatyam—grace, strength, expression, and storytelling. Students will also get a brief insight into the cultural background and structure of the art form, along with how regular training is conducted.
The class will include a short warm-up, foundational drills, and a small choreography segment to help students experience movement with music. Individual attention will be given to ensure correct technique and comfort.
Students are requested to wear comfortable Indian or workout attire that allows free movement. Hair should be neatly tied back. Please keep a water bottle handy and join with an open mind and willingness to learn.
This trial session will help you understand the teaching methodology, class structure, and expectations before enrolling in the regular program
