This beginner-level vocal music course, designed and taught by Dhriti Chatterjee, introduces students to the rich tradition of Indian Classical Music in a simple, structured, and engaging manner. It is ideal for children and adults who are new to music and wish to build a strong and correct foundation.
The course begins with an introduction to the basic swaras (Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni), helping students understand pitch and tonal relationships. Through regular practice of alankars (systematic voice exercises), students develop voice flexibility, stability, and control. Simple raagas are introduced gradually so learners can understand the mood, structure, and beauty of classical music. Basic bhajans and light classical compositions are also included to make learning enjoyable and expressive.
Special emphasis is given to voice culture and pitch training, which helps students sing in tune and improve voice quality. By the end of the course, students gain confidence, proper voice placement, and a strong musical base essential for further classical training and performance.
