This is a basic and free course for children, that helps them to learn the fundamentals of mindful living and meditation, overcome stress and improve their well-being. Meditation and mindfulness has been in vogue for more than a thousand years and are known to have proven health benefits for kids.Our short course now brings the benefits of this age-old spiritual practice to your child, to help her / him to face the challenges and pressure of living in the modern day world. Regularly practising this can benefit your child in several ways - improves focus and concentration, develops compassion and kindness and most importantly, help them evolve into peaceful teenagers and holistic adults.

 

About the Faculty -

Janani Ravikumar is a globally certified meditation and mindfulness teacher (under a course accredited by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association) and coach. She has been practicing meditation and mindful living for over 22 years, and has taught children in several schools, colleges and other educational institutions. Being a mother of two kids, she can understand the challenges and emotional roller-coaster ride that our youngsters go through in today’s complex modern world. She feels that the first and foremost thing that children must learn is to discover their inner world inside and connect with themselves within. This alone will help them to live in and face the challenges posed by this turbulent world with ease, and mature into kind and strong adults with wonderful human values.

  • Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher from Zenways, accredited by  the International Mindfulness Teachers Association.
  • Professional Counselling Certification under the Complementary Therapists Accreditation Association, and member of the International Association of Therapists.
  • Compassion Based Resilience Teacher (CBRT) with the Nalanda Institute of Contemplative Sciences.
  • Certified Yoga Teacher (200-hours YTT) from Bodsphere, accredited by the Yoga Alliance.
  • Compassion Cultivation Training (developed at the Stanford University) from the Compassion Education Alliance.
  • Mindfulness for Life (MBCT-L) from the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, University of Oxford.

I am Janani Ravikumar, the founder of Devshishu and a certified teacher of mindful living and meditation. I have been practising meditation and mindfulness for over 18 years, and experienced my own personal healing, transforming from being an unhappy, anxious and stressed person to a calm, happy and peaceful person.

I offer courses and counselling services based on mindfulness to adults, youth, children and families. I also provide consulting services to corporates, educational institutions and developmental organisations.

The programs and counselling services that I offer are based on modern research and studies on mindfulness and neuroscience, while being rooted in the ancient traditions of spirituality. They are deep and powerful, yet simple, practical and hands-on using stories, games, activities and real-life simulations to capture the attention of the learners.

Students have reported that post sessions, they feel calmer, more relaxed, appreciate and enjoy life more, develop resilience and are better-equipped to face life challenges, and overall, experience improved well-being.

I can offer a free demo session, if required, to demonstrate the effectiveness of my services.

My profile as below –

A brief about my background (this may surprise you),I am a Chartered Accountant with around fifteen years of experience with the corporate muti-nationals. I suffered intense stress and burnout during my corporate career, and so I resorted to meditation and mindfulness practices. Consequently, my stress reduced significantly, and was replaced by a deep calm, acceptance and serenity.

This inner peace and joy that I discovered within myself, led me to quit my lucrative career as a Chartered Accountant, and pursue my inner calling to become a teacher of mindfulness and use it to improve people’s lives. To spread this beautiful message and joy to others as well became my mission in life.

This, I believe is the most important gift a person can ever receive in life, one that is life-changing and transformational, into the best we can ever be.
