I am a passionate teacher and researcher in Sociology, with expertise in classical and contemporary sociological theories, tribal studies, sociology of law, and philosophy of social science. In undergraduate teaching, my focus is to introduce students to the discipline with clarity, depth, and critical engagement. I aim to cultivate analytical thinking, sociological imagination, and research orientation, preparing students to connect theoretical perspectives with real-world social issues.
The B.A. in Sociology provides a comprehensive understanding of society, culture, institutions, and change, while equipping students with theoretical, methodological, and analytical skills.
The program covers:
Foundations of Sociology – concepts, thinkers, and theories.
Indian Society – caste, class, gender, religion, and diversity.
Research Methods – qualitative and quantitative approaches.
Applied Sociology – development, law, social problems, and globalization.
The course encourages students to critically analyze social realities, compare perspectives, and apply sociological knowledge to contemporary issues in India and the world.
My teaching approach at the undergraduate level is student-centered and discussion-oriented. I emphasize:
Interactive lectures that simplify complex theories.
Critical discussions and debates to engage students actively.
Case studies & field-based examples to link theory with practice.
Research exposure through small projects, assignments, and use of sociological tools.
Evaluation support with structured writing, model answers, and exam strategies.
The goal is not only to prepare students for exams, but also to build independent thinkers who can question, analyze, and contribute meaningfully to society through sociological insight.
