This AP Psychology course is designed for high school students who seek a rigorous, college-level introduction to the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. It is appropriate for learners preparing for the AP Psychology Examination as well as those considering future study in psychology, medicine, social sciences, or related fields.
The course follows the updated AP Psychology Course and Exam Description (CED) guidelines and organizational structure, ensuring alignment with current curricular standards and assessment expectations. Students will engage with major psychological perspectives; foundational research methods; biological bases of behavior; cognition; development; motivation and emotion; personality; psychological disorders; and evidence-based treatment approaches. Emphasis is placed on scientific reasoning, data interpretation, experimental design, and application of psychological principles to real-world contexts.
Study material (presentations and vocabulary sheets) will be provided after each class. Regular practice sheets based on past papers will be provided and regular testing will be conducted after each unit to ensure maximum preparation for the May exam.
