The Advanced Level Vocal Music Classes offered by Dhriti Chatterjee are designed for serious students who wish to achieve a high level of proficiency in Indian Classical Vocal Music and prepare for professional performance. This stage follows the traditional Guru–Shishya parampara, with detailed and intensive training tailored to each student’s voice and individual potential.
The course focuses on in-depth raaga development, including vilambit and drut khayal, with emphasis on the proper structure, mood, and aesthetics of each raaga. Students learn advanced alap, bol-alap, bol-taan, and various types of taans to enhance creativity and improvisation. Training in layakari (rhythmic variations) helps students develop a strong sense of taal and rhythmic command.
Students also receive guidance in semi-classical forms such as thumri and dadra to improve expression and emotional depth. Special focus is given to voice culture, tonal refinement, and endurance required for long performances. Performance training, stage presentation, and competition preparation are important parts of the curriculum.
