Welcome to Class XI Accountancy. This academic year, we will complete the entire syllabus in a systematic, clear, and practical manner so that you develop a strong foundation in the subject. We will begin with the introduction to accounting, where you will understand its meaning, objectives, importance, and basic accounting terminology. Gradually, we will move towards accounting principles and concepts that form the base of all accounting procedures.
You will learn how to record business transactions through journal entries, post them into ledgers, and prepare a trial balance with accuracy. We will also study special purpose books, cash book, bank reconciliation statement, and different methods of calculating depreciation. In the later part of the syllabus, we will focus on the preparation of financial statements of a sole proprietorship, which is an essential and scoring area.
My goal is not only to help you complete the syllabus but also to ensure conceptual clarity, numerical accuracy, and logical understanding. Through regular practice, doubt-solving sessions, periodic tests, and revision, you will build confidence and perform excellently in your examinations as well as in higher classes.
