Surmalancha Sangeeta Vidyala

I am a dedicated music teacher and the founder of Surmalancha Sangeeta Vidyala, where I have been teaching and training students in Indian music for many years. I have been providing music tuition since 1995 and have more than three decades of experience in music education. My areas of teaching include Hindustani Classical Music, Tabla, Harmonium, and Guitar. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to train students with different levels of musical experience and help them develop their skills with proper guidance and regular practice.

I started my own music institute around 20 years ago with the aim of promoting and preserving Indian classical music through quality and structured training. As the founder and sole faculty member of the institution, I have been closely involved in teaching students and guiding their musical development. My approach is focused not only on learning an instrument or musical style but also on developing discipline, confidence, musical understanding, and genuine appreciation for Indian music.

I am certified by Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata, and hold degrees in Hindustani Classical Music, Tabla, Harmonium, and Guitar. My academic and professional background has allowed me to develop knowledge across multiple areas of music. I believe that learning music requires a combination of theoretical understanding, practical training, regular practice, and proper guidance, and I incorporate these aspects into my teaching.

As a certified examiner with Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, I also have experience in assessing students and understanding the different stages of musical development. This experience helps me guide students more systematically and identify areas where they need improvement. I pay attention to both technical accuracy and musical expression so that students can develop a well-rounded understanding of their chosen discipline.

In my classes, I work with students on the fundamentals as well as the practical aspects of music. For Hindustani Classical Music, I focus on developing a strong foundation and gradually building musical understanding through practice. For Tabla, Harmonium, and Guitar, I guide students in learning the techniques, patterns, exercises, and musical application required for their level. I encourage students to practise consistently and develop patience and discipline as they progress.

I believe that every student has a different learning pace and musical interest. Therefore, I try to understand the student's current level and requirements before planning the learning process. My aim is to create an environment where students can learn with confidence while developing respect and appreciation for music. I also encourage students to remain consistent with their practice because regular effort is essential for building musical ability.

I offer both online and offline music classes and have extensive experience teaching students online. Whether a student wants to learn Hindustani Classical Music, Tabla, Harmonium, or Guitar, I provide structured guidance based on their individual level and goals. Through my years of teaching and experience as a musician, teacher, founder, and examiner, I aim to help students develop strong musical foundations, improve their performance skills, and build a lasting connection with Indian classical music.
