Shrutika V. - "Unlock the Secrets of Classical Music with Expert Instruction."

I am a Vocal Music and Harmonium teacher with around 8 years of experience in teaching and training students at different learning levels. I have a deep interest in Indian classical music and enjoy helping students develop their voice, musical understanding, rhythm, and confidence. Over the years, I have worked with students with different levels of experience, from those who are beginning their musical journey to learners who want to strengthen their existing skills. I believe that consistent practice, proper guidance, and a strong understanding of fundamentals are essential for making steady progress in music.

I have completed my Master of Arts (M.A.) and have developed my expertise in Vocal Music and Harmonium through years of practical training and teaching. My musical knowledge includes important aspects of Indian classical music such as Raga, Alankar, Thaat, and Tala. Along with Vocal Music and Harmonium, I also have knowledge of Tabla, Keyboard, and basic recording techniques. This broader understanding of music helps me give students a more comprehensive learning experience and understand how different elements of music come together.

My teaching approach combines classical music theory with practical, hands-on training. I believe students should understand the concepts behind what they are learning while also getting regular opportunities to practise them. I structure my classes according to the student's current level, learning pace, musical interests, and individual goals. I focus on clear explanations and step-by-step guidance so that students can gradually build their skills without feeling overwhelmed.

In my Vocal Music classes, I work on developing the student's understanding of swar, voice control, rhythm, pronunciation, and overall musicality. I introduce concepts such as Raga, Alankar, Thaat, and Tala in a structured manner and help students understand their practical application. Regular practice is an important part of my teaching, as it helps students improve their voice and develop greater control and confidence over time. I encourage students to practise consistently and focus on improving gradually rather than expecting instant results.

I also teach Harmonium with a practical and structured approach. I help students understand the basics of the instrument and gradually develop their ability to play along with vocal practice and classical compositions. My knowledge of Tabla and Keyboard also gives me an understanding of rhythm and musical accompaniment, which I incorporate wherever it is relevant to the student's learning. I also have basic knowledge of recording techniques, which can be useful for students who want to understand music beyond traditional classroom practice.

I have also had the opportunity to demonstrate my dedication to music through competitive achievement. I secured 2nd rank in a state-level music competition, which reflects the importance I place on consistent practice, discipline, and continuous improvement. This experience has strengthened my belief that progress in music comes through regular effort and a willingness to keep learning. I try to bring the same discipline and positive approach into my teaching so that students can develop both their musical abilities and confidence.

My goal as a teacher is to create a supportive and engaging environment where students can learn music with patience and consistency. Whether a student wants to improve their singing, learn Harmonium, understand Indian classical music, strengthen their knowledge of Raga and Tala, or develop overall musicality, I tailor my lessons according to their requirements. I aim to provide structured guidance, practical training, and regular practice so that every student can build a strong musical foundation and enjoy their journey of learning and performing music.
