It was quite challenging when I transitioned from a technical background to teaching life. Things were so much different and unique here. There were many things that helped me to adapt to the situation and give back to the students as much as possible. The strong communication skill helped me to get through the students effectively. I am fluent in both English and Hindi so that helped me in understanding the student from any linguistic background it developed a trust process between myself and the students. As a teacher, one needs a absolute good problem solving skill to produce result. I do posses a good problem solving skill which consist of both, Logical and theoretical, approach that helped me to provide solution effectively. To teach on a professional level, one needs a teaching degree or diploma. At the time of transitioning, I did not have any teaching degree. I think that slowed my process a bit. I do have a full time Bachelor's of Education as of now but if I had this degree at the time, It would have given me a lot more opportunities. I think to teach a student you have to think like that particular student or class to some extent. These things are psychological in nature. It is really strenuous to learn on our own. A student always rely on his/her teacher to provide guidance and show him the right path. And to do so a teacher should have proper training. I did not have any training and it was affecting my teaching methods and techniques. But after completing this 2 year teacher training program, I feel confident and can create a difference in the society.
