‘Probability’ means the chances obtained of an event among a large number of
possibilities. In this chapter, you’ll study what ‘conditional probability of an event’ is,
given that another event has occurred. In NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Maths,

Section 13.2 – In this section, you’ll learn about conditional probability and its

Section 13.4 – In this section, you will learn what independent events are and how
probability is found in such cases.
Section 13.5 – In this section, you’ll study how the famous mathematician, John Bayes
solved the problem of finding reverse probability by using conditional probability.
You’ll get in-depth knowledge about Bayes’ Theorem that got published posthumously,
in 1763.
Section 13.6 – In this section, you’ll study the probability distribution of a random
variable, mean of a random variable and variance of a random variable.
Section 13.7 – In this section, you’ll study about Bernoulli Trials and Binomial
Distribution.
