Section 6.2 – In this section, you will learn about the rate of change of quantities. For instance, you can calculate the rate of change of ‘y’ with respect to ‘x’ using the rate of change of ‘y’ and that of ‘x’ both with respect to ‘t’.

Section 6.3 – In this section, you will learn how to use differentiation to find out whether a function is increasing or decreasing or none of these.

Section 6.4 – In this section, get an exposure of how to use differentiation to find the equation of the tangent line and the normal line to a curve at a given point.

Section 6.5 – In this section, learn how to use differentials to approximate values of certain quantities.

Section 6.6 – In this section, you will explore the concepts of derivatives to calculate the maximum or minimum values of various functions. You’ll also study the absolute maximum and the absolute minimum of a function that is important for the solution of several applied problems. Besides, you will also learn some important theorems, local maxima, local minima, point of inflection, maximum and minimum values of a function in a closed interval.
