Chapter 15 - Our Environment

In this chapter, you’ll study various environmental components, their interactions, and how we make an impact on the environment. You’ll also learn about the ecosystem, its types – natural ecosystems such as ponds, forests, lakes and man-made/artificial ecosystems such as crop fields, gardens etc.

In this chapter, you’ll learn that microorganisms, animals, plants, human beings and surrounding physical environment interacting with each other and maintaining balance is called Ecosystem. Tropic levels of food chains and consumers, the flow of energy in an ecosystem (sunlight- producers- herbivores- carnivores- top carnivores), waste disposal, biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes etc. You’ll also study about the Ozone layer (Ozone- a molecule formed by three atoms of oxygen) and its components in a detailed manner.
