Nisha - No i am fresher y

Hi, I’m Nisha, a dedicated Sitar teacher and classical music practitioner with over 8 years of teaching experience. Music has been an integral part of my life, and through my teaching, I aim to help students not only learn the Sitar but also truly understand and feel the depth of Indian classical music.

I hold a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree from Banaras Hindu University, which gave me strong academic and theoretical grounding in classical music. In addition, I have completed the Prabhakar certification from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. These qualifications have helped shape my disciplined approach to music education and strengthened my command over Sitar technique and classical fundamentals.

Over the years, I have taught Sitar to students of different age groups and skill levels, both online and offline. I also run my own music academy, where I train students from beginner to advanced levels. Managing and teaching at my academy has given me hands-on experience in designing structured learning paths and nurturing students’ long-term musical growth.

Along with private teaching, I have worked as a Music Instructor with the Government of Bihar Education Department. This experience exposed me to a more formal and structured education system and helped me refine my teaching methods to suit institutional standards while still maintaining creativity and individual attention.

My teaching focuses strongly on building proper technique, rhythm, and expression. I follow a structured lesson plan with an emphasis on practical training, ensuring that students develop a solid foundation before moving on to advanced compositions and improvisation. Each class is interactive and tailored according to the student’s level, pace, and learning goals.

As a performer, I have actively participated in various music competitions and cultural programs, including Sangeet Nayak. I have also performed in and attended numerous music events and concerts, which has enriched my understanding of performance dynamics and stage presence. This performance experience allows me to guide my students not just as learners, but as aspiring performers as well.

I primarily conduct online classes and ensure that students receive the same depth of training and personal attention as they would in an offline setup. I also guide students who wish to appear for music certification exams, helping them prepare confidently with the right syllabus, practice routines, and performance readiness.

Teaching Sitar is more than a profession for me—it is a responsibility to preserve and pass on a rich musical tradition. My goal is to help students grow into confident, disciplined, and expressive musicians while enjoying every step of their musical journey.
