Akshay Pandya

I am Advocate Akshay Pandya, a 28 year old practicing advocate at the Bombay High Court with 3 years of experience in litigation.

To enumerate on the work experience, I have been practicing in the Hon’ble Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench, since 2017 mostly in the criminal jurisprudence but not constricted to it. I have a well rounded experience of filing and handling various matters in the High Court and lower courts including but not restricted to, criminal trials, conducting cross examination of witnesses, criminal appeals, criminal revision applications, criminal applications u/s 482 Cr.P.C for invoking the inherent powers of the High Court, anticipatory bail applications u/s 438 Cr.P.C, criminal and civil writ petitions, public interest litigation, divorce petitions, etc.

I have contributed to several criminal appeals and trials alongside Senior Advocate Mr. Avinash Gupta (who bailed Sadhvi Pragya in Malegaon Bomb Blast Case) and Advocate Prashant Sathianathan (S.P.P., Home Department, Gov. of Maharashtra, India) and have also appeared individually before the High Court of Judicature of Bombay, Nagpur Bench. I have significant practical knowledge of Criminal Law, Insolvency Law and Corporate Law.

I was also bestowed with a brief yet valuable stint of 6 months in corporate insolvency resolution with Nakshatra Insolvency Resolution Professionals Ltd., a registered Insolvency Resolution Entity. I’ve had invaluable opportunities to conduct client counseling at out station assignments in Mumbai with big corporates like Zee group, Essel Infra, etc., and have been involved in several corporate insolvency resolution processes along with the CIRP of Pan India Infraprojects Pvt. Ltd. with a corporate debtor liability extending well beyond INR 6,500 crores.

I have a heterogeneous grounding in law springing forth from a diverse array of studies and project exposures. My cosmopolitan demeanor comes from being a proud awardee of a Master's degree in Law from the prestigious Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, along with the India Merit Scholarship. I was fortunate to learn in a research oriented curriculum involving an eclectic melange of legal disciplines like, international commercial law, law of international organisations, international dispute settlement, advanced topics in international law, research methodologies in law, international business transactions, intellectual property law, international trade and finance. The research projects and stimulating class discussions have verily consecrated me with a lifelong intellectual treasury.

In addition to the scholastic arsenal of Bachelorette in Arts and Law, and a Master's in Law, the applicant is also bestowed with a comprehensive reading of the Company Secretary course of ICSI. This edifying trinity makes the applicant perfectly disposed towards litigation exposures of variegated scope and complexities.
