Ravikant Shekhar

I am Ravikant Shekhar, and I am passionate about teaching Biology and Life Sciences. Currently, I am working as an Assistant Professor in the Postgraduate Department of Biotechnology at Teresian College, Mysuru. I have recently completed my Ph.D. in Biotechnology (2025) from the University of Mysore, and I hold an M.Sc. in Life Sciences from the Central University of Jharkhand (2016).

Teaching and learning have always been central to my academic journey. With over 8 years of experience in the academic and research field and 4 years of direct teaching experience, I have had the privilege of guiding students from Class 11 and 12 to undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I also assist students in preparing for competitive examinations like NEET, CSIR-UGC NET, and GATE, as these have been part of my own academic achievements.

I am proud to share that I am a CSIR-UGC NET (JRF & LS) qualifier in Life Sciences (June 2015 & June 2018) and have also cleared GATE in 2018. These milestones strengthened my expertise and helped me design a teaching approach that combines conceptual clarity with the strategic skills needed for cracking competitive exams.

My teaching style is student-centric, interactive, and concept-driven. I strongly believe that understanding the fundamentals is the key to excelling in Biology. I focus on simplifying complex topics, fostering curiosity, and creating a research-oriented mindset among students. Whether it is cell biology, genetics, ecology, or biotechnology, I make sure that students not only learn but also develop a scientific approach to problem-solving.

In my classes, I use a mix of presentations, diagrams, and discussions to make concepts clear and interesting. For school students (Class 11 and 12), my sessions align with CBSE curriculum standards while also integrating NEET-level preparation for those aspiring to medical careers. For undergraduate and postgraduate students, I provide in-depth coverage of topics and help them build a strong foundation for research and advanced studies.

I have had the opportunity to teach students from reputed schools like Delhi Public School, Mysore, and many others. My students have appreciated my ability to break down complex concepts into simple explanations and guide them through a structured learning process. I always aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas beyond the textbook.
