As someone who has been teaching abacus for over five years and is a certified abacus trainer, I aim to make the subject interesting for children. The best way to learn is through play, so I use the abacus to make maths fun and engaging. I have my academy where I teach students from various locations, and I am proud to say that it has been recognised as the best franchisee. I have even had students from Japan, the US, and the UK attend my online classes. My teaching methodology has proven effective, as most of my students have won national and international awards in abacus.
In my academy, I teach in groups of five, and there are ten levels in total. Each level takes three months to complete, and students attend two weekly sessions. However, I am always willing to customise the schedule per the students' requests.
I have my lesson plan designed to cater to the needs of each student. Every child has a learning style, and it is essential to recognise and adapt to that. I provide a personalised certificate upon completion of each level, which helps motivate students and keep them engaged. I provide a workbook and homework for each session and encourage students to practice regularly. Practice is vital to mastering any subject, and the abacus is no exception.
