I am 28 years old and have been learning keyboard (and music) for the past four years primarily as a hobby. Music for me is a source of enjoyment, and I would like to teach it with the same idea. Please note that I do NOT have teaching experience and I'm not a professional musician. I am a Finance guy who is in-between things right now and would like to teach music since I believe it is one of the most beautiful skills one can teach.
What can I offer?
-- I am an intermediate level player myself and can get beginners started in their pursuit of learning keyboard and eventually becoming a good musician
-- I understand the structures of both Western and Hindustani Classical theory - something which is a significant source of confusion in beginners
-- I can teach at the student's home or my home
-- I have myself learnt from various instructors, and thus I have a fair idea of what methods work best on beginners
-- On a different note, I have a strong educational background for a 20s guy and in case you are a student, I can guide you (not sure how relevant though it depends)
Some important points
-- I do not need long term students (can make no commitments over a year). The main reason for this is that if my primary job changes, I might have to move even to a different city.
-- In case you're looking to try out keyboard as a first instrument, I can help you cultivate your interest, teach you the basics, even motivate you to learn and help you with some ideas too (compositions, instruments, etc.)
-- Fees can be negotiated to fit both. This is not my primary profession, and I don't expect to earn a livelihood out of it, but I'd like my time to be respected
I used to learn music at SoulFul Music Academy (SFMA) in Goregaon. I also highly recommend that institute to anyone who is extremely serious about music (Please note that I am under no pressure to advertise my relation with SFMA - I do it because I believe in it).
