I worked as a Teacher at Apostolic Carmel High School, where I was responsible for educating and nurturing pre-primary students aged 2.5 to 6 years. My role involved creating a positive, engaging, and structured classroom environment that supported early childhood development through play-based and experiential learning methods. I planned and delivered age-appropriate lessons using creative teaching techniques such as storytelling, activity-based learning, use of teaching aids like charts, flashcards, clay, and interactive games. I focused on building foundational skills in language, communication, and social behavior while ensuring that each child received individual attention based on their learning needs. During the pandemic, I successfully transitioned to online teaching by adapting lesson plans for virtual platforms. I conducted engaging online classes using digital tools, prepared PowerPoint presentations, videos, and worksheets, and ensured that learning continued effectively despite the shift to remote education. I maintained student participation and discipline through interactive sessions and regular engagement. A key part of my role involved coordinating closely with parents by providing regular updates on student progress, addressing concerns, and guiding them on supporting their children’s learning at home. I maintained clear and professional communication through calls, messages, and emails. In addition, I actively participated in organizing school events such as annual day, sports day, and other activities, contributing to the overall development of students beyond academics. I also collaborated with fellow teachers and school management to ensure smooth execution of the curriculum and school programs. This role strengthened my skills in communication, classroom management, creativity, adaptability, and digital teaching, while also enhancing my ability to manage responsibilities efficiently in both offline and online environments.
