Overview

Anjali is the 3rd generation in a highly distinguished Food family. Her grandfather was a pioneering Gujarati food entrepreneur who migrated from Africa to London and founded what became the largest Indian food manufacturer in the world: Patak’s.

Anjali’s mother – Meena – is a born-and-bred Mumbaikar who studied at Sophia college. She married Anjail’s father Kirit in 1976. Together they expanded Patak’s into a global force. In recognition of the impact they have made on food in the UK, both Meena and Kirit have received OBEs from Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain.
And so, Anjali grew up surrounded by a family of great cooks who in addition to their skills with Indian cuisine, had a wide and embracing love of cuisines from the world over. Her own culinary training started very young indeed!
