I don't think master is the right word to use. Excel is such a vast concept. It isn't easy to be an expert in all the fields. But, you can become an expert in certain areas. Excel is all about applying your skills and formulas at the right space at the right time to make your task easier. For working professionals, like database analytics, Business, Banking analytics, you need a serious commitment to learning Excel skills. It depends on your pace and ability to grasp it. Having said that, it will take 2-3 months of constant work and dedication. After learning, you should be able to do pivot tables, conditional formatting and know about all the complicated formulas and when to apply them. True mastery comes with VBA, which is a quite simple programming language. Still, writing macros is not very similar to using MS Excel, so you may say it's a separate field of knowledge. VBA makes it able to automatize tasks and do lots of things that can't be done by entering any formulas, including pop-up windows to enter some data or present some results. To gain expert knowledge in VBA, you again need one month of complete dedication and commitment. read less
