During the past year, I have worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy, where I have been actively involved in undergraduate teaching, academic mentoring, and practical skill development. My primary teaching responsibilities include subjects such as Kinesiotherapy, Biomechanics, and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. This role has provided me with valuable experience in delivering both theoretical concepts and hands-on clinical training to physiotherapy students. In Kinesiotherapy, I have taught topics including therapeutic exercises, principles of exercise prescription, muscle strengthening techniques, stretching, range of motion exercises, posture correction, balance and coordination training, gait training, and rehabilitation protocols. My teaching focuses on helping students understand the scientific basis of therapeutic exercise while developing the practical skills required for patient assessment and treatment. In Biomechanics, I have covered fundamental concepts such as joint mechanics, kinetics, kinematics, force systems, levers, centre of gravity, balance, posture, gait analysis, and biomechanical principles related to normal and pathological movement. I encourage students to apply these concepts to clinical scenarios, enabling them to understand movement dysfunctions and evidence-based rehabilitation strategies. I have also been involved in teaching various musculoskeletal conditions, including assessment and management of common orthopaedic disorders affecting the spine and peripheral joints. My sessions emphasize clinical reasoning, functional assessment, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based physiotherapy interventions. I regularly integrate case discussions, demonstrations, and problem-based learning approaches to enhance students' clinical decision-making abilities. Apart from classroom teaching, I conduct practical demonstrations, supervise laboratory sessions, prepare teaching-learning materials, design assignments and assessments, and assist in conducting practical examinations. I actively mentor students in improving their clinical examination techniques, communication skills, and professional conduct. I also participate in departmental academic activities, curriculum planning, and student evaluation to ensure effective learning outcomes. My teaching philosophy is centred on creating an interactive and student-focused learning environment that bridges theoretical knowledge with clinical practice. I strive to make complex concepts easy to understand by using real-life clinical examples, visual presentations, and evidence-based teaching methods. My objective is to develop competent, confident, and ethical physiotherapy professionals who possess strong clinical reasoning and practical skills. This experience has strengthened my communication, presentation, academic planning, and mentoring abilities while reinforcing my commitment to excellence in physiotherapy education and continuous professional development.
