Mayur Vaghela

I am a music teacher specialising in Hindustani Classical Vocal, Hindustani Harmonium, Tabla, and both Hindustani and Western Keyboard. I have around 15 years of teaching experience and have developed my expertise through extensive practical training and experience in vocal music and Tabla. I have completed my Master of Arts and have worked with students interested in both classical and light music. My aim is to help learners develop a strong musical foundation while also encouraging them to explore their individual interests and style.

My vocal music training covers a wide range of forms, including Ghazal, Bhajan, Bollywood songs, Classical, and Semi-Classical music. This allows me to work with students who have different musical preferences and goals. Some learners may want to develop their understanding of classical music, while others may be interested in improving their singing for light music, devotional songs, or popular repertoire. I adapt my teaching according to these requirements while ensuring that students develop the fundamental skills needed for good musical expression.

I also provide specialised training in Voice Culture and Voice Gymnastics. These areas help students work on vocal quality, control, range, confidence, and overall singing technique. I believe that developing the voice requires consistent practice and proper technique, and I guide students through exercises that are appropriate for their level and goals. Along with singing, I also teach Harmonium, Tabla, and Keyboard, giving students opportunities to develop their understanding of melody, rhythm, accompaniment, and musical coordination.

My teaching approach begins with understanding the student's current level, interests, learning goals, and requirements. I then structure the lessons according to their needs and progress. My classes combine theory, demonstrations, guided practice, revision, and individual feedback. For music training, I focus on developing fundamentals such as sur, taal, rhythm, voice control, and proper technique before gradually introducing more advanced concepts. This structured progression helps students build confidence without feeling overwhelmed.

Each class generally includes a review of previous lessons followed by the introduction of new concepts and guided practice. I believe regular revision is important because musical skills develop through consistent reinforcement and practice. I encourage students to practise between sessions and provide suitable exercises or homework depending on their level. During practice, I pay attention to individual areas that need improvement and provide specific feedback to help students refine their technique.

With around 15 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students with different levels of musical knowledge and different reasons for learning. Some students may be starting from the basics, while others may already have experience and want to develop more advanced skills. I try to make my classes student-friendly and practical so that learners can understand what they are practising and why it is important. My focus is on creating a positive learning environment where students can steadily develop their musical abilities.

I conduct my music classes through both online and offline modes and aim to make every session engaging, practical, and focused on the student's progress. Whether a learner wants to study Hindustani Classical Vocal, improve their singing, learn Harmonium or Tabla, develop Keyboard skills, or work specifically on voice culture, I tailor my lessons according to their requirements. My goal is to help students build strong musical fundamentals, improve their technique and confidence, and enjoy the process of developing their musical abilities.
