The main difference between black box testing and white box testing is the level of access a tester has to the software being tested: Black box testing Focuses on the software's functionality without considering its internal structure or code. It's similar to how a customer uses an app. Black box testing is less exhaustive than white box testing and provides low-granularity reports. White box testing Involves a detailed examination of the software's internal logic and structure, including its code, algorithms, and functions. It's similar to how a software engineer debugs a program. White box testing is also known as "glass box", "clear box", or "structural testing". White box testing is more comprehensive than black box testing and provides high-granularity reports. White box testing can be time-consuming and expensive because it requires skilled testers who understand the software's internal logic. It may also have a limited scope and not include all potential defects. read less
