Path coverage is a white box testing technique that involves writing unit tests to execute as many paths as possible through a program's control flow. The goal is to identify any paths that are broken, inefficient, or redundant. Here are some things to know about path coverage: Requires knowledge of the code structure Testers need to know the code's structure, including its branches, loops, conditionals, and decision points. Tests linearly independent paths Path coverage testing doesn't require coverage of all paths, but only of linearly independent paths. A linearly independent path is any path that introduces at least one new edge that isn't included in any other linearly independent paths. Different from black box testing Black box testing focuses on validating the software's functionality based on user requirements, while white box testing focuses on looking at the code's internal structure and behavior. Other white box testing techniques include: Statement coverage: Ensures that every line of code is tested by at least one test case Branch coverage: Tests conditional statements, which create branches within the application's execution code read less
