Black box testing and white box testing are two software testing methods that differ in how they analyze a system: Black box testing Focuses on the system's functionality without considering its internal design. Black box testing is fast, doesn't require programming skills, and provides less granular reporting. It's used to identify interface-level bugs. For example, black box testing can check if a user can log in with a valid ID and password, or if the software displays the correct error message when an invalid ID and password is entered. White box testing Focuses on the system's internal workings, including its coding, structure, conditions, paths, and branches. White box testing is time-consuming, requires programming skills, and provides more granular reporting. It's used to find bugs at the design level. For example, white box testing can check the internal working of a calculator to see how it calculates its output. Some testers combine black box and white box testing to get a more comprehensive inspection of a software application. read less
