I have been teaching the Veena for the past three years, helping students develop a strong foundation in both the instrument and Classical Carnatic Music. Our lessons begin with understanding the basics of the Veena, including its parts, posture, playing technique, and basic notes (Swaras). Once the fundamentals are established, we gradually move on to Nottuswaras, followed by simple songs. As the classes progress, students will learn songs in a step-by-step manner, beginning with the simplest compositions and gradually advancing to more complex pieces. Alongside the structured Carnatic music lessons, we will also learn easy bhajans and simple devotional songs, making the learning experience both enriching and enjoyable. The goal is to build a strong musical foundation, confidence, and a love for the Veena, while progressing steadily from beginner-level pieces to more advanced compositions.
