As a nursing educator specializing in psychiatric and mental health nursing, I have had the opportunity to guide students through one of the most critical and sensitive areas of nursing practice. My teaching focuses on equipping students with both the theoretical knowledge and interpersonal skills required to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. I have taught core psychiatric nursing concepts such as mental health assessment, therapeutic communication, psychiatric disorders, crisis intervention, psychopharmacology, and legal-ethical considerations in mental health care. My classes integrate case-based learning, role-playing, and simulation-based training to help students develop clinical reasoning and empathy.
